GMAT Math Stuff
I once started writing a book on how to take the GMAT math section. This was based on years of teaching classes on the GMAT and one-on-one GMAT tutoring; I had already designed my own GMAT math curriculum, with all my own lessons conveying my take on how best to approach each kind of question. The book was to be essentially a transcript of me walking a student through through the lessons I had written. It was intended for people who had not done math since high school and didn’t remember much or any of it.
I never finished the book (do you know how hard it is to write a book? Trust me, not easy), but I wrote first drafts of a couple of chapters. Here they are if you are interested. Please note: these are first drafts. The ideas in them are all solid and tested, but the actual words might be a bit rough (and I'm sure there are zillions of typos). Plus there’s the occasional note from me to myself.
By the way, this was all written a few years ago. Math hasn’t changed, of course, so the math stuff this teaches is still right, but I can’t make you any promises that the test hasn’t changed since then. I would not use this as your only reference for what the GMAT is like, but if you need some review on basic math or how to approach some math questions, here you go.
I’m pretty sure each contains a mixture of problem solving and data sufficiency questions.
My sister took that picture, by the way. I think I look pretty handsome.
